DROPSIGHT

DROPSIGHT (Pty) Ltd is a new start up company, wherein a proof of concept was developed to the point where a special UV Tracer spray deposition analysis can be performed on natural surfaces using a smartphone and the newly developed application, DROPSIGHT, in conjunction with a specially designed portable photographing laboratory, LEAFLAB.

This is the first ever tool that can be made available to all farmers, chemical companies and researchers to do in field analysis of the efficiency of chemical spray deposition onto natural plant targets, benchmarking it with the required biological control, and thus optimizing the use of pesticides, insecticides, fungicides and growth regulators.

The outcome will be an optimized use of agrochemical formulations, minimizing the use thereof for optimized outcomes. The waste and contamination of soil, ground water and the atmosphere will be reduced greatly, due to optimal sprayer set up resulting from these measured parameters.

The EU FARM TO FORK strategy, to be initiated in 2022, requires a 50% reduction in the use of Agrochemicals in food production by 2030, and DROPSIGHT is the ONLY available tool that can support this objective to fruition.
