WIPO-SOUTH AFRICA SUMMER SCHOOL ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND TRANSFER OF TECHNOLOGY: 20 NOVEMBER TO 1 DECEMBER 2023
WIPO-South Africa will host the summer school on Intellectual Property and Transfer of Technology and invite young professionals and students to participate. The summer school programme provides an opportunity for senior students and young professionals to acquire a more profound knowledge of each intellectual property (IP) domain and of the role and functions of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
The programme consists of lectures, case studies, simulation exercises and group discussions on selected IP topics, with an orientation towards the interface between IP and other disciplines. A certificate of participation is awarded to participants who successfully complete the programme requirements.

Eligibility
The summer school is open to senior students (graduate and postgraduate) and young professionals from any field of study or discipline. The programme is designed for candidates who are already familiar with Intellectual Property.
Before being selected for the programme, all applicants must have successfully completed the WIPO Distance Learning Course on Intellectual Property Management (DL 450), which must be written before the commencement date.
The following documents must be uploaded with the application:
- A recent curriculum vitae.
- A letter setting out the applicant's reasons for applying and what they hope to gain from the summer school (maximum of 300 words).
- A copy of their identity document or passport.
- A DL 450 certificate.
