Overview of Business

Setšong is made up of artisanal, handcrafted tea products that are crafted from wild harvested, indigenous, African plants found in the natural landscapes of South Africa; more prominently within the rural areas of Limpopo. Through tea harvesting & crafting, Setšong aims to develop the economy, establish and create jobs within the rural areas of South Africa. Setšong works in collaboration with community elders, who are indigenous knowledge practitioners, to create a range of tea blends, using the region’s Diya root and Tepane leaf which contain high anti-oxidants and minerals to rejuvenate and balance the body. Community elders are consulted at every step in order to preserve and celebrate the provenance of the plants and the land from which they come. These artisanal teas have proved to stand out with them being a first entry of tea from the Sekhukhune district of Limpopo. These tea products have been consumed for over five generations by Bapedi in Sekhukhune which results in a great deal of heritage and history being associated with all of our teas.
