Overview of Organisation

RLabs is a South African award-winning non-profit company, established in 2009 in Bridgetown, Cape Town. The RLabs model has since been expanded to 23 countries across 5 continents impacting more than 15 million people through our work. The main aim of RLabs is to create environments and systems where people are impacted, empowered and transformed through HOPE, Innovation, Technology, Training and Economic Opportunities. To date, more than 200,000 people have accessed RLabs skills, training and economic empowerment programmes

RLabs provides a support programme for small businesses and entrepreneurs assisting them in growing their enterprises. To date, more than 200,000 people have accessed RLabs skills, training and economic empowerment programmes.

  • Academy - Provides wide access to education and training programmes
  • Innovation Lab - Research, Ideation, Design, Prototyping, Sandboxing, Innovation and Technology
  • Incubation & Acceleration - Providing SME Support, Training and mentorship accelerating high-impact innovative and scalable business
  • RLabs Women -  Provides artistic opportunities by offering various training and empowerment programmes through the following pillars: Startup Women, DigiWomen, Junk.fund, Live! & Virtual Reality.

RLabs support for entrepreneurs;

  • RLabs(ExA)Accelerator - 12-week Accelerator programme that provides technology, digital or media entrepreneurs with access to support, resources, mentorship and networks to build their innovative scale-ups. The goal is to build high impact enterprises leading to job creation.

  • SME Boost - Enterprise development support programme that provides micro and small business owners with skills training, development, mentorship and support to start and grow their enterprises. The goal is to increase local economic value creation and new jobs created.

  • Venture Studion - Incubation programme for RLabs initiated ventures providing a 1-year incubation support with the goal of launching the high impact venture within that period. The goal is to build high impact enterprises leading to job creation.
