Global Alliance Africa is supporting Rand Water to find Solution Providers for two Water Treatment Residue challenges.

Rand Water, the largest water utility company in Africa, is based in South Africa and supplies drinking water to the Gauteng province and other areas of the country. It provides clean drinking water to more than 11 million people across an area stretching over 18,000 Km2. Customers include metropolitan municipalities, local municipalities, mines and large industries.
As a provider of sustainable, universally competitive water and sanitation solutions for Africa, Rand Water aims to strengthen its capacity to develop and sustain globally competitive capabilities. Disposal of Water Treatment Residue (WTR) is a universal problem with growing environmental awareness. The company would like to find ways to improve operational efficiencies and to add commercial value to this waste stream.
