The Bpifrance Challenge has opened 2020 applications for African startups looking to expand to France and Europe. The challenge is for startups looking to raise funds, between €1 and €3 million, to finance that expansion

The requirements are to have either small ongoing operations in France and/or Europe or to have some tangible actions done to prepare this expansion (partnerships secured, letters of intent from customers.)

The Bpifrance Challenge has opened 2020 applications for African startups looking to expand to France and Europe. The challenge is for startups looking to raise funds, between €1 and €3 million, to finance that expansion

a.) GEOGRAPHIC AREA

(i) Startups must be based or mainly operating in Africa.

b.) MATURITY CRITERIA

(ii) Less than 8 years of existence: Seed /// Series A /// Series B

c.) SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

(i )(Required) Pitch deck: 12 slides max (pdf, ppt) – max 50mo

Prizes & Rewards

Pitch - For the three finalists, they will pitch in front of an international crowd composed of investors, entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and other innovation enablers.

Network - For the three finalists of the Bpifrance Challenge

(i.) Meet angels investors, VCs, CVCs, and institutional investors that actively invest in Africa

(ii.) Meet the corporate executives that make the decisions in the corporations you are chasing.

(iii.) Meet brilliant fellow African entrepreneurs

Winner of the Bpifrance Challenge

Among the three finalists, after a final pitch session on stage, the judging panel will select one winner.
